Deal With Death Poem by Krantol Northic

Deal With Death

The boy stood on the edge of the cliff
Glancing down at the sea below
The waves crashed down on the many rocks
as they did oh so long ago

The thoughts ran through his head again
Of the day that went awry
The crimson blood that flowed from wounds
The wounds that had caused her to die

The tears, they came all over again
As bad as the day it happened
What was the point of living
When your world was so disheartened

The smart part emerged again
From the locked corner of his mind
'Would this be what she wanted
What her wandering spirit would find? '

'This gnawing pain inside my heart
It just doesnt go away.'
'Even if you had a choice, dear boy
You'd remember her everyday.'

And so he debated inside his mind
Against the tiny voice
The voice was like the rocks below
Fighting on without a choice

Eventually the boy caved in
And walked away from the cliff
Not knowing the huge consequences
if he had jumped off it.
