Dear America
DEAR AMERICA
When I was a young boy I wrote a letter to America
And I titled it Dear America,
Dear America,
Is the dream of my father that his son will have the chance at a future that he couldn't have still alive?
Dear America,
Will my sister be able to walk side by side with me along the equal path of opportunity?
Dear America,
As long as there are great men and women in this country willing to go to work for you, lay brick for you, build roads for you, teach children for you, go to war for you, die for you, Dear America, will our Nation's Pillars remain strong?
Dear America,
Do you still stay true to the creed of our nation? That all men are created equal? I still have faith in you; do you still have faith in yourself?
Dear America,
Is our dream alive? If I'm willing to fight for my dream, to work for my dream, is my dream possible?
Dear America,
When I grow into a man and my son writes a letter to you will these United States still be the unwavering land of opportunity and hope and the symbol of freedom throughout the world that I read about as a young boy?
Dear America.
