Dear 'Facebook', May I Make A Small Request Poem by Dan Reynolds

Dear 'Facebook', May I Make A Small Request

Dear 'Facebook', may I make a small request,
regarding status updates, we find sad?
Some postings are upsetting, so it's best
to realise the 'Like' choice may seem mad.

Instinctively we read these and agree
and click without a thought for what it says.
However, on reflection, we may see
to 'Like' a child's departure may well raise.

an eyebrow to the deed which we have done,
when sympathy was all we meant to show.
So my request is quite a simple one
and relatively cheap, as changes go.

To let us all come over, more sincere...
Please change the button, 'Like' to just 'Hear Hear'?

I like this idea! A Dislike button would also be nice. And a Stop Telling Us Every Detail of Your Life on Facebook button, too, for some people.

A philosophical and sensitive poem. I am glad I saw it and stopped to make this comment.
