Dear Friend

Although there is nothing I can do or say
To make you feel you want to stay
I can still tell you how I feel
And tell you these feelings are very real
No I don't love you...yet
But one day I may grow to I bet
But for now all I wants a friend
Maybe someday I hope our friendship ends
And blossoms into something better
I feel these hopes as I write this letter
If I don't change your mind and you leave
I hope that one day you believe
That we your friends are here
All the ones you hold dear
I know you don't feel as I do
But just know what I feel is true
If you leave and don't return
Know my heart will always burn
For a loss so hard to bare
Know, no matter what I'll always care
I hope one day were closer than ever
And I'll get to hold you and stop your shivers
If you need anything please just call
And I'll do my best so you don't fall
If you need my help just ask
I'll do my best to complete any task
Maybe when you leave, you'll see what I have seen
When I left and saw the world so mean
And you'll return to all of us
But if you leave because you must
A get that you never forget
As you read this while you sit
Know that these are all true words
Probably the truest to ever be heard
I know I'll miss you when you go
Even now the longing shows

The old year went, and the new returned, in the withering weeks of drought,
The cheque was spent that the shearer earned,
and the sheds were all cut out;
