Dear Romeo Poem by Shane Clift

Dear Romeo

Rating: 5.0

I miss your lips
I miss your arms
I miss your breath
I miss your charm

No tears shall fall this time I say
You will truly never go away
As you travel along through life
I will wait here to be by your side
You fall easy to love I know
You always return, it never fails
I will wait patiently and believe fate will prevail

I miss your lips
I miss your arms
I miss your breath
I miss your charm

You hurt me once, you lure me in
A change in direction as it always begins
You get distracted
I am a fall back for your pride
You bring out feelings that I try to hide
I give into them, I do as you please
False sense of security you tend to provide
You say I love you but it turns to lies
You think you mean it
You assure me you do
In the end I am the fool

I miss your lips
I miss your arms
I miss your breath
I miss your charm

Nothing is there even when you are here
I will no longer shed a tear
A new love found
This time its true
A new love found
It isn't you

It's funny the resilience of a broken heart..and how we always seem to bounce back and are willing to offer love once again.. Perhaps the saying is true, 'It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all' Thanks for the read
