Dear Son

Adrian Angel, dear son of mine
I smiled with joy the day you came into my life

I long awaited your birth, and now that you're here,
I can't seem to leave your side

You're the son I always wanted and saw only in my dreams
Now those dreams are a reality and I'm happy as could be

I want to be your father, I want to be your friend
I want you to know I'm here for you son until the very end

One day you'll be reading this when you're a little older
And when that day comes my son, look over your shoulder,
and give your pops a hug

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Young Love lies sleeping
In May-time of the year,
Among the lilies,
Lapped in the tender light:
White lambs come grazing,
White doves come building there:
