Death Poem by Fae Sebastian

Death

Such a thing often seems cruel
Something we hate to think of
And cry over when it seems close
But we forget that it is needed
Forget that death brings the balance needed for life
As without death, can life even exist?
It seems as though we only live
Because we know death is coming
Because we know time is short
And it makes us want to face the new day
To try yet again to do something
Anything that will leave our mark on the ever-changing world
So if death didn’t exist
If life was eternal
We would no longer try to live
We would put it off, not do what we desire to our fullest potential
Because we’ll know that always
There’ll be another day
Another week, another month, another year
And we’ll always get another shot
But as it is now
With death looming around each corner
We all try our hardest
We live our lives because we know
There may be no more chances
