Death Row Poem by Andrew Matthews

Death Row

Rating: 5.0

Broken bottles in my head
Hunting for words i've already said
Hiding my eyes from the sun
My eyelids feel like lead.

Trading places with the Earth
My hands shaking
As the silent hordes return
Tearing my soul
I try hard to repent
To cash in on the life i've spent.

Suddenly the light appeared
My heart and soul
Were sheared from the body
They once feared
The poisons of life no longer in control
Of my body as I lie in this hole.

But can you explain
What i've been saying
All my life...
All my life...

I lie at rest
At one with the Earth
No longer a pest
I lie at rest.

Are you explaining what it's like to be on the wrong side of the road? Like how it's a struggle for you to be a better person or am i wrong but nevertheless, this poem is good.
