Death To The Eyes Poem by Katherine Perry

Death To The Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Death to the eyes that cause the pain
We live and learn but with nothing to gain
Day by day we slip further away
Love may go on, but the passion never stays

Who is the one that made up the rules
Who are the ones whom abide by them
Soon the youth will then turn into fools
Loving only by the lights that are dim

So death to the eyes that catch a glimpse
And then turn towards all lust
Death to the eyes that were never meant
To let one go to just sit and rust

Look around us and everywhere you'll see
The things that make it impossible to want only me
Look around and see the danger approach
Closer and closer no more reasons to boast

Stuck in a world where your no longer real
And then fading to black and white
Settling for less in your old high heels
Going nowhere in this judgmental life

Life was never meant to be fair
And as the flower wilts then so does time
Not looking forward to endless heartaches to bare
But if death to the eyes you'd do just fine

So death to the eyes that can always see
Death to the eyes that are no longer on me
Death to the eyes that never go blind
Death to the eyes that are no longer mine! !
