December 21st Poem by Francis Santaquilani

December 21st

Rating: 5.0

The last of the shortest day's light
Is enough for a boy to still see his snowman
Through the window.

After the snowman is swallowed by night.
The window becomes a mirror and the boy sees
His father descending the stairs and
Walk into the kitchen without a word, again.

The boy crawls under the Christmas tree
To plug in the Christmas lights
For the snowman to see
And to drive his father back upstairs.
