Deception Poem by Zena Blank

Deception

Rating: 4.5

so perfect
such a lustrous outside
no one would ever think
even dare to look
to dive into the belly of the beast
for in that interior
wars are waged
the fire of rages never settled
seas of sadness in constant doldrums
icebergs of past friendships
frozen with the weight of the moon
all elements colliding
creating a battle ground of turmoil
each adding to or hindering the others
none of which is beneficial to the host of it
every battle leaves a mark
not outside but in
scars line the interior
no space is spared
if only the world could see
it just takes one to look
to dive in
head first, no going back
the turmoil would stop
peace could be brought
with just one
that's all it takes
one.
