Deep Within Poem by Scarborough Gypsy

Deep Within

Rating: 4.1

Once again alone and lost,
This empty feeling is the cost
Of many regrets and dreams I’ve tossed
Onto the heap of mental compost,
This wasn’t the way I meant it to be,
I’d hoped that today, I would be free
From burden and hurt that obviously
Was the root of evil caused by me,
So many dreams that I’ve thrown away,
I asked you to go, when I should have said stay,
I learnt my lesson too late in the day,
And guilt is the price that I have to pay.

God be with you for being honest, you found profound beauty in this poem, so deep and encouraging, especially for those who practise hypocritical liberty, nice job.sincerely

As I read your poetry, I find myself enjoying it more and more. I like the way you express yourself - honest and to the point. avr

Excellent depth. It pulled me right in as I was reading it. You have a way of zeroing in on the core, the source of pain. I pray it's healing for you to write. It's healing for me to read it.

These are poignant words that have a wealth of meaning and regret, cleverly and tastefully put together.
