Deforestation - Poem by Steven Letourneau

Silent and strong
The eye of time
A surviving witness
To man's crime

Once so peaceful
Full of hope
A victim of 'progress'
Who thought it could cope

But here she is
The last of her kind
The result of a people
Who have been so blind
