Dekha hai zindagi ko kuchh itnaa qareeb se

Dekhaa hai zindagii ko kuchh itnaa qareeb se
chehre tamaam lagne lage haiN ajeeb se

is rengati hayaat kaa kab tak uThaayeiN baar
beemaar ab ulajhne lage haiN tabeeb se

har gaam par hai majamaa-e-ushshaaq muntazir
maqtal ki raah milti hai kuu-e-habeeb se

is tarah zindagi ne diyaa hai hamaaraa saath
jaise koi nibaah rahaa ho raqeeb se

ai rooh-e-asar jaag, kahaaN so rahi hai tu
aawaaz de rahe haiN payambar saleeb se

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
