Deny The Roses Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Deny The Roses

Deny the roses from these fields
This place reeks of broken souls
Cracks on the wall echo my voice
Until I finally lose its source
Breaking bones, trembling flesh
Force to fuel this forsaken pen
Gather the life you exhaled
I'll turn away as you function
On such thin, flimsy things, strings
Don't deny your burning desires
Let the evening erupt in you
As it washes you away, a captive
From the ground that slitted you
