Derek Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Derek

Rating: 5.0

Melting in your eyes
My soul drowns
Believing all the lies
I hid each frown

… then a dagger, a sword…
a spell of danger, a word…

yet still I held on
your image I beckon…

with swelling eyes
my heart mourns
to have you or to hold you
my mind is torn

… then the truth, a pain
a pinch of anger, then more pain

yet still I loved you…
how much I love you….

With tired eyes
My mind aches
For with each poignant whys
My heart awakes

… and I cower
… and I fear…
the feel of helplessness
… a tear…

For ‘ 'though this can never be…
I can’ t deny me what I feel….
