Dervishing Poem by Tim Johnson

Dervishing

Rating: 4.0

I’ve spent so much time of late
Thinking, ruminating
Here to there
Always in a straight line

Just once I’d like to go
Nowhere, everywhere
Whirl and spin
In an aimless orbit

Dance like a madman
Fancy, free
Shuffle and breathe
No particular reason

Why does everything need to matter?
Beginning, end
Journey and arrive
So much to plan

I could use a little less structure
Rhythm, rhyme
Thought and uttered
Apropos of nothing (and everything)
