Description Of A Girl. Poem by Brookelyn Walker

Description Of A Girl.

Can't you see the bags under her eyes?
The way that she stays up so late at night?
Can't you see the way she cries
Not too hard, so, so light?

Haven't you seen her torn clothes?
The hickey under her chin?
Haven't you seen how little she's grown?
Keeping herself so thin?

Haven't you heard the way she talks?
As if she doesn't care a bit?
Messy hair, and a drunken walk?
Her joint freshly lit?

Haven't you noticed her sneakers?
The bottoms all scuffed up?
Haven't you seen her T-shirts?
Torn and ripped all up?

Can't you see the bags under her eyes?
The way that she says up so late at night?
Can't you see that she cries?
Not too hard, but not so light?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this for some reason... but I don't exactly know. It is 12: 44 and this is my second day of no sleep. When I figure out why I wrote this I will tell you.

-Later note* This is not a poem about me. I know that much for sure.
