Desert Nights Poem by Keila Lozada

Desert Nights

Rating: 5.0

Being alone in the desert
Isn't really a lonely thing
Not with the clouds skirting past the half orb moon
A million chandeliers twinkling in the semi darkness
Nights alone in the desert
Are dreamless nights
When nature expands it's generosity
Blanketing you with the warmth of a left-over noon day breeze
Even on the coldest of desert nights
The silence lulls you with moans as the wind transforms
Your shivering into minute waves, tossed like a small boat
From one ripple to the next
Desert nights I loose myself
I am one with the sand, cacti
Rocks
I am free, I am still
Unassuming
Just being
A part of the night, in the desert
