Designated Driver Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Designated Driver

Bartender pouring bubbly
Into my squeaky clean glass,
In remembrance of
The days now past!
Clink Clink! Cheer Cheer!
Designated driver,
Root Beer!

I will wipe the foam
From my mustache.
On rye toast have
Some corned beef hash!
Then I shall drive
These characters home.
They had their beer,
And I had none.

The designated driver
Of all wagon trains,
Cannot have drunks
Pushing cows in vain.
For if he stumbles
Getting on his horse,
The coming stampede
Is much far worse!
