Desire Poem by Kelly Batson

Desire

Rating: 5.0

Our lips had touched softly,
Mouths parting to be,
Our tongues intertwined,
Exploring the depths of the sea.
The kisses were deep,
The passion was whole,
Almost too much to bare,
Touching body, mind and soul.
Our lips came alive,
Just like the incoming tide,
Causing earth, wind and fire,
Just adding fuel to our desire.
As rare as can be,
Chemistry so elusive and free,
With all emotions just so right,
Like stars exploding into the night.
As time goes by,
A tear might fly,
But the tenderness we've shared,
Can never say goodbye.

I love the pacing of this poem. It conveys the steady build up of desire very articulately.
