Despair Poem by Brian Ely

Despair

I fall down on the floor
On the inside
So sad
Covered as though i'm dead
Bearing this living death
Dig me out
But you won't
The shovel in my hand
Nice to be served
Everyone is a king
But i lay here fetal
A child with a ding
A babe with sad eyes
All i have seen while i empathised
The pain also mine-inside
Battled,
Troubled,
Saddest eyes,
It is said 'cos someone lied
So today i cry
But at least i know why
How does that sound pain-on-the-inside?
As i lay here on the floor
The other side of the world
Upon Asian shore
Waiting to be saved.
