Despedida

As vezes penso
Que tudo deveria ser um calmo relento
Porem se assim fosse
A vida seria um tanto menos doce
Noites afora
Dias adentro
E uma interminável curiosidade
Sobre tal sentimento
Que brilha nos olhos
Refletindo o que a alma silenciosamente
Espera estar sentindo
Buscando, entretanto
Entrelaçar se em estrelas solitárias
Sem que sejam cadentes
Pois essas, brincam demais com a gente
Vem e vão
Mais rápido que relâmpago, trovão
Trazem chuva, e dizem adeus
Nem ao menos tentam o até logo,
Até breve, quem sabe
Abusam de sua destreza, procurando manter
Uma certa leveza
Despedidas são sempre assim
Guardo-te comigo, já sentindo saudade
Do pedaço que levaste de mim

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
