Despite Our Dreams Poem by David Keig

Despite Our Dreams

Rating: 4.0

Set in stone too many rules
Constrain and not much more
The way to see them is more like
The sea upon the shore.

Too many ‘don’t do’s’ do not weigh
An even balance with
The can I, should I, will I things
With which we have to live.

For of frying pans and fires
Of needs and of desires
The truest indications seem
To come to us despite our dreams.

Complex and reminds me of something someone once said Rules are for the obedience of fools guidelines are for the wise SL
