Destiny Poem by Lana May Hamlin

Destiny

It has nothing to do with the love of a family
But the betrayal of destiny
A destiny set before she was born
A life of sadness and of being alone
She’s acting so perfect yet imperfect by far
She sits and dreams of crashing her car
To end this life full of pain and sorrow
To live for no more than one more tomorrow
Because she’s hiding behind a smile when she’s crying
Pretending to be happy but really lying
She laughs to cover up all the pain
People would otherwise think she’s insane
She wants help but she wont tell
All she wants to do is yell
She desperately wants them to know what she’s feeling
They never understand even when she’s revealing
Her life is a reminder that her world is nothing but sweet lies
So she breaks down and cries
