Destiny Of A Flower Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

Destiny Of A Flower

A sunny day it was, quite bright and jocund,
Vibrant colors of nature spread in even blend.

In happy mood I stepped out of cozy home,
Felt like jiving around and aimlessly to roam.

Walked into a garden to see beautiful flora natural.
Nurtured by human hands as if a religious ritual.

A big bed of roses white, red and also yellow,
Amazingly I saw them all smiling with a glow.

I saw to my surprise a host of dainty daffodils,
Whispering with the winds as in playful riddles.

Incomparable was the beauty of daisies delicate,
Sweet fragrance with majestic appearance innate.

The red tulips seemed as if laughing with vanity,
Being from a superior clan among the community.

Pious pink lotuses I could see with vide green frond,
Ranked as a celestial flower though in a murky pond.

Exotic carnations boasting of their colorful effulgence
Mocking other flowers faded in their regal magnificence.

Lilies were like fair skinned beauties bathing in water,
Droplets rolling down their bare forms smooth as alabaster.

In one way or the other, flowers seemed lucky lot,
Spreading happiness all around like a true zealot.

Without knowing for how long will they breathe,
When and where plucked to decorate a flowery wreath.

Will it be a garland for some victorious warrior?
Or a posy to be gifted to a lady of virtues baser.

Will it be a shower of their petals on god’s altar?
Or will mourn silently on the coffin of a dead sire.

Will they be put on the diadem of a lord to placate,
Or die at the feet of a tyrant without a chance to supplicate.

Will they be lucky to sooth the senses of a king,
Or wither un-plucked to fall lastly as a useless thing.

Despite the uncertainties of life, flowers do bloom,
Seem to live every moment shunning away the gloom.

Learn we should how to be optimistic in real life,
When end is inevitable and precarious situations rife..
