this crawling, racing,
this pacing
oh little girl
you thought you would beat the rap
failing to see
the screaming lost
in your reflection
how you spawned the eve
of all destruction

security and subsistence
have become your whole existence
ohh the things
you were promised

the simple is no more
cast to the shadows
who eat
the opened skies
angels who despise
this is not how
it was meant to be
or is it?

now as we cradle
the unborn
mankind is scorned
down, down
down the pit we go

you brought to men
dark dreams, conquest
natural disrest
nuclear power
the sting of pleasure
the fading forever

which pit of fiery darkness
shall i let flood my brain
seems i am lost and found
then lost and insane
against the ticking doom
i will always strive
was i ever alive?

the light, the dark,
the gray fury
heaven in reverse
chemicals perverse
with her every choice
she carves
the cornerstone of nature

God had to know
i will deserve
whatever evolution
sees fit to preserve

seconds, minutes, hours
or even a season
of fire
are hardly enough to contain
the tomorrow
in her desire

lost
in the unfolding evolution
you'll find
we are forever stuck
in her
destiny x
