Destruction Of A Myth Poem by Dan Brown

Destruction Of A Myth

Rating: 2.8

Long gone is the Witching Hour;
the mystery that scared children so.
That sacred hour of midnight
was desecrated long ago.

Long gone is the Tooth Fairy.
Long gone is the truth.
All the children know now
who really takes that tooth.

Long gone is Santa.
Long gone is his legend.
Fewer letters to the North Pole,
do today’s children send.

Long gone is everything expected of a child.
And for those things we grieve.
Each of these things, now just a myth,
that children no longer believe.
