Devil In A Bag Poem by Barbara Nixon

Devil In A Bag

Rating: 4.0

All the tell tale signs

a mother always knows

inbuilt radar, honing device

an invisible watcher

as suspicion grows.

***

The bloody nose

a trillion excuses

agitation, pacing floors

pervading dark expression

to pull her offspring from the brink

she'll demolish all the doors.

***

But the boy will sell his soul

for the devil in a bag

the malevolent merciless master

has the victim in his lair

power of toxic powder

holds the addict in its grip

down the spiral of unending vice his descent grows ever faster.

It's very sad, but it's also about discovering things we wish we hadn't!
