Devil's Pet

The blood red sky
reflects in the eyes of a child,
as he’s led down the path
holding the hand of a dark stranger.
Sirens split the air,
as a couple stands,
holding each other
with tears streaming down their cheeks.
A boy’s broken body
lays bleeding in a ravine,
while the devil plays
with his new pet.
