Devils Lurk Around Us Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Devils Lurk Around Us

Rating: 5.0

Who without Christ can understand?
While blind and walking dead
Deceived within the devil’s hand
Unmindful being led

The devil has a plan to keep
Regarding blind souls lost
Holding the church in pious sleep
Regardless of the cost

Conniving, since Adam and Eve
Since God and he at war
His evil ploys are to deceive
To hide and bar life's door

Most of mankind are being fooled
Invading night and day
Through countless guises he has ruled
That world and church will stray

How many times his voice we hear
His subtle thoughts within
Causing life's Way to disappear
More precious souls to win

Could yours be next, or even mine?
From youth till old and grey
Only The Son of God divine
Can keep the foe at bay

No devil appears ghoulish
Man's valued soul to woo
Thus the world considers foolish
Salvation to pursue

The bible seems not worth reading
Full of obsolete laws
So hell continues misleading
Churches to shut their doors.....

Intensely written with great insight! Many foolish people have been misled as you have stated, yet I feel that the tide is now turning, and God has come to stand with us in this fight for our salvation. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
