Devotional - Giving Poem by Kathleen J. Shields

I thank the Lord for blessings He’s bestowed within the years
From the joys of daily wonders to the sorrows and the tears
He’s guided me and helped me along life’s narrow lane
And now it is my turn, please, let me explain:

There are missions to support with benefits so grand
Scholarships for women and minds we can expand
Food and clothes to help the needy, children to support
Disaster relief and materials and everything of the sort
There’s so much we can do, so much to achieve
That’s why we collect, so others can receive.

I give because I’m called to because He makes it known
I give because I’ve prospered my spirit it has grown
I give because I’m blessed so many things in life are mine
I give because I want to; for his glory is divine.

He’s giveth me so much so now it is my turn
Let’s pledge this year for Him, and what we can return.
