Dial Tone (C) 5-11-2010

I don’t understand,
I know I pressed the right buttons,
But this isn’t what I expected to hear,
Or at least what I hoped to hear.

I know patience is a virtue, so maybe…
Well that’s just it, I don’t know.

This thing speaking to me,
I don’t understand its language
I don’t understand what it’s trying to tell me
Or if I even want to

Could I have lost signals and mixed in with someone else’s
It keeps coming back so I know it isn’t finished speaking
But what is it telling me? I simply can’t figure it out.

Whomever has this high for having ones like me hear this,
Is really messed up,
I don’t know why I keep hearing this constant hushed buzzing

Maybe it’s an alien trying to communicate with me.
Or maybe I’m transferring to someone else’s line,
Or maybe this is how it loads,
So that I can be connected with her.

I’m not sure what it is but Mr. Telephone Man please
Why is the phone blocking me from her?

Could it really be that she just doesn’t want to talk to me?
