Diamond In The Sky Poem by Adedamola Ajibade

Diamond In The Sky

The first time I saw you, I was amazed
Everything seems bright even though it was night
What could her name be? I asked myself
Diamond, perhaps what else could she be
I came close and you greeted with a smile
A beautiful smile that renewed my day
We talked and laughed throughout the night
And then I said you remind me of something
'Like what' you asked with a beautiful glee
'A diamond in the sky' I said happily
I could tell from your looks- you never heard it before
I tried my best to keep the moment alive
I was happy and happy you were as well
I was lost in trance and i saw you glow
it shone so bright, the sun rose with it
i saw you glow i said with delight
You called me a star you said with a smile

Come to think of it,
What else do stars do best?
