Did You Think Of Me? Poem by Megan Tucker

Did You Think Of Me?

Nervous tic,

unsteady tock.

Clumsy fingers that slip and trip,

over and under her as she begins to strip.

Did you think of me, did you think of me?

You wanted a game to play,

something you would hold to never admit,

but just like those fingers,

our words slip and trip.

Nothings worse than admitting a past deed.

To open a healed wound so it can begin to bleed.

Was I enough for you at that time?

A mountain far too complicated and laced with trouble as you climbed?

Nervous tic, unsteady tock.

My time came as I locked lips and undressed.

In hope of love and in hope for the best.

I thought of you every second,

I wound up in a mess,

Thinking of only you and swallowing too many pills to relieve the stress.

Nervous tic,

unsteady tock.

We’re waking up beside each,

wrapped up in each others arms.

Holding each other just so tight,

so the other can’t get away through the night.

Nervous tic, unsteady tock.

Did you ever think to tell me sooner?

Did you think of me, did you think of me?
