Dies Young

If she dies young
She’ll do it singing a love song
Hopeless girl who never knew
What the price of risky love could really do

If she dies young
It’ll be cause to her, mama was always wrong
Telling her god just wanted her to be strong

If she dies young
Tell her that I miss the way she sung
Miss the time that from the tree branch we hung

Now she died young
To the bitter sweetness of her love song
She was a girl who figured out
A little to late what risky love was all about

Kneel down, fair Love, and fill thyself with tears,
Girdle thyself with sighing for a girth
Upon the sides of mirth,
Cover thy lips and eyelids, let thine ears
