Different Poem by R.Scott Roakes

Different

You ask what makes you different,
It’s not one thing it’s many that have made me sentient,
The gleam in your eye, the smile on your face,
The way your hair falls and your embrace.
The need to feel your skin on mine,
The way your whole being shines.
The way we sleep,
My desire for you in my arms to keep.
When I hold you I feel you not just with my skin
But much deeper..at a place within.
You hold me totally,
Like the Sun holds the Planets..You are my Gravity.
The past is a memory,
With you I see my future, my home, my eternity.
Your laugh and even your little snort,
Our talks, our hopes, our mutual support.
You have reached places in me that I did not know existed,
The thought of you and my sole is lifted.
I see clearly all my today’s and tomorrow’s,
Side by side, hand in hand…I see like photos.
A happy place with love and understanding…
it’s there for the taking.
