Different Sides Poem by Karthik Srirangam

Different Sides

One might look upon me, physically speaking don’t
And walk away, history repeating, never let me be
Frightened and scared that I shall betray, they all think I am odious

I might be seeing one, I should leave, where to
Must run away, do not know if he has a gun, he is different
Cannot risk to die, have to be safe, he might kill me with his religion

They walk away from me, and forced to stand still
Here I stand, all alone, I myself, I …
I start to feel anger, but why should I live

He looks scary, he might be it, with
His eyes are filled with hatred
He should not be here

I tried to look with friendship
I tried to be part, but I …
I felt not wanted, however some others did

Cannot take a flight, because I know
Cannot take a bus ride, but…
They are all here ready to die, just to kill me, now

I am not loved in this world, please,
I could just as well die, and spread a word, forgive,
That we shall not vanish, me,
But rather establish, god,
