Different Versions Of The Noah Sotry

Rating: 2.5

Noah’s father feared so much
That it might rain he taught him Dutch,
because in Holland they have dikes
to keep the water out. On bikes
the Dutchmen fly around, but Noah
preferred instead to be a rower,
which came in useful when the Flood
prove that his Ark was not a dud.

When rain began to pour, God wished him
luck, and called him Utnapishtim,
which means, in case you’re queryin’,
“Old Noah” in Sumerian,
or in Akkadian, maybe,
they tend to get mixed up by me.
Noah is the name I choose;
it’s Hebrew, popular with Jews.

There are so many different versions
of Noah’s story, Jews and Persians,
Assyrians and Babylonians
believe each others’ to be phony ’uns,
with only their ones gospel true,
whatever gospel means. I do
maintain the best one’s in the book
called Bible. You should take a look.

Inspired by a visit to Noah’s Ark, at the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles, together with Linda, Abigail, Max, Darius and Judah on January 23,2008.
