Directions, Or Lack There Of Poem by Alexzia Ferdinand

Directions, Or Lack There Of

Dear, we wandered the map
and found danger in doves
and hope in fallen leaves.
you picked up cinnamon and called it a new invention,
i laughed and winkingly agreed,
Dear, we perused the world.
found danger in sunshowers
and hope under river rocks.
i searched for moss on the north side of trees
you tried to tell me- go west or maybe east
Darling, we traversed the earth.
found danger in flower patches
and hope with toadstools.
we cliffdived holding hands, but losing them midway
we entered a world, holding our breath, soldierstraight
alone in a splash
