Directive #21 Poem by Niladri Dey

Directive #21

Rating: 5.0

Leader of the Third crusade
Inspired our great dean of the state
Blitzkrieg summoned on the hordes of red
The largest onset until this date

Privates of 6th stood in a line
For a sortie over 1800 miles
Lebensraum was their motive behind (Lebensraum: German for Living Space)
For Reinrassig to be on the rise (Reinrassig: German for Pure Breed)

Midsummer was the time of the year
When Nordics arrived in their finest gear
The orator’s certitude to gain
Was gestated in the wolf’s lair

Great Purge justified the foe
They contrived to boot on the door
The world was to hold its breath
As Barbarossa was to commence

Stavka taken by surprise (Stavka: Russian for command element of armed forces)
Alerted troops at the end of the line
At 3: 00 in the morning a storm arrived
The rotten edifice was now in sight

Overlord was left to decide
Course of war vexing his mind
Dire effects of the loss of time
Apocalypto halted by the ice
