Dirty Water Poem by lindsey kidd

Dirty Water

Everything is all smirky
Only darkness is seen
An object bobs in and out
What could it be?
Slowly, my pale hand reaches
My hand disappears
My heart begins to race
My other hand begins to sweat
Suddenly there is a grip
My body jerks bringing out another hand
Curiosity has the best of me
The pale hand seems familiar
My eyes dart to my own
The hands are identical!
My heart is about to race out of my chest
My grip loosens...
Thoughts swarm in my mind
Curiosity and Fear begin to fight
As the pale hand swats the air
Curiosity turns her back
And Fear takes hold
My feet run like the wind
Now I just wonder
What is really in the Dirty Water?
