Distance Poem by Khauri Teverbaugh

Distance

Rating: 5.0

Trying to connect with over telephone wire
an attempt to inspire an erection
correction
something that moves you

It was so much easier when I had you
at my fingertips
Expending all my energy
to pull creativity from my depths

Circling around the same phrase
Im missing you
Knowing we won't be ending this torture
anytime soon

Bringing a new visual to share between us
letting words and sounds fall
across the wire of here and there
Yet hard to express our love

Cringing when its time to hang up
In a dark room and wide bed
by ourselves, separately
Fitfully drifting off to sleep
