Distraction Poem by Debayan Sil

Distraction

When my teacher called me,
I shouted, " Ma'am! Present! ".
But she knew well about me,
that I was mentally absent.

Where I was?
I don't wanna get lost.
My mind and my brain was in play
and I was the stuff.

I'm watching the movie
that I've seen last night,
without any screen before me, sometimes.
And some other times,
in the dark sky I shine.

Rolling upon the green grass
with my friends in the school ground.
All are happening at the same time
when I was sitting inside the class,
with my friends all around.

In past, being super humans.
Saving the needy earth,
throwing bullets against monsters and villains.
Now becomes creativity
and new relations take birth.

Plannings for how to clear next level.
Plannings for the words I've to say her.
Plans for player settings,
either for cricket or for soccer.
And the plannings for the seating arrangement
for good marks in paper.

Fighting legs with benchmate under the table.
Conversation using pen and paper.
Solving sudoku under the study book,
keeping eyes on the teacher.

I don't think that I'm the only one
who is being attacked by such daydreams
or we call it distraction.
But yes, I love their company
as they help me for some new creation.
