Everybody skimps Everybody scams
Everybody schemes Everybody milks
Nobody is honest Nobody is punctual
Nobody works Nobody dreams

Everybody is trying to get over
Yet nobody does

And this is America
Land of the fleas
Home of the knaves
Never have you a considerate thought
You are a slave
To popular culture

You wanna be a millionaire
Yet
Do not know how the world around you works

They just place that carrot on that stick
And you run and run
Yourself ragged

In a state where

Everybody is out for self
Everybody is afraid
Nobody thinks ahead
Nobody is brave

In these divided states of America in
