Do They Know It's Christmastime? Poem by Little Eagle McGowan

Do They Know It's Christmastime?

Rating: 3.8

It's Christmastime
Sowed the seeds to be afraid
At Christmastime
We banish right and get in the trade
And in a world that's empty
The rich play with their toys
Throw your arms up at the world at Christmastime
But live a prayer
to pay for the other ones
At Christmastime...
It's hard, ain't nobody havin' fun
When a world just died
at your window
And in a world of dread and fear
Why's the only water flowing not the healing of our tears

In the Christmas bells that ring… there are the changing signs of doom
Well tonight thank God
the one changin is you
Hearts cold as snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they'll
miss this year is life
Oh where pain ever grows
Yea pain like rivers flow
Does it matter if it's Christmastime at all? ? ? ? ?
Do we know what Christmas
means at all? ? ?
