Do What You Will But Please Don’t Break My Heart Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

Do What You Will But Please Don’t Break My Heart

I string together the memories of a once beating heart
The strings pull forth the ability to feeling again
I search for words to describe how I feel once more
Yet nothing comes to mind as you lead me to your door
Whisper in my ears those wonderful words I long to hear
Tell me I’m yours and you’ll never let me go
I have entrusted a battered and bruised heart upon your hands
To mend or to break, which ever you prefer to do
But be careful for it bleeds easily as well as breaks
Hold on with care but don’t suffocate it
But don’t forget about it
Show how you feel, open up my eyes tonight
I want to understand you won’t hurt me and you’ll keep my hand
The strings are tide tight now and theirs no going back
No more thinking about the possibilities of being hurt
No more observing the situation and if your right for me
I’m running with my instincts now and following what I think I know
Don’t prove me wrong above anything else
I want to believe I know you would never hurt me
I want to know when I look into your eyes I see you care as well
I want to find a newfound love and I see something deep with in you
I pray my hearts right in agreeing to become yours and only yours
So that there is no mistake and my heart doesn’t gain a new found wound
I feel that this could grow to become things good
I see it can turn my world around if I let you in
But I have already let you shine in a little light into my decaying night
Push it aside and hold me tight
Kiss my lips once more and tell me how you feel
Don’t hold anything back from me
I wont hurt you, its me I’m worried about
I couldn’t handle another wound to my all ready demolished heart
I finally put back together all the small pieces
So don’t shatter it once more because I trust you
My hearts in your hands now
You can heal it and love it or destroy it, the choice is yours
