Do You? Poem by Emma Woods

Do You?

Don't turn away from me
I'm bleeding black and I broke my wings
My heart dies every time you're gone
The moon is out as the sun has shone
If you shoot me down I'll stand again
But I'll never forget those words you said
Do you remember when we lay beneath the stars?
Do you remember when we bled in eachother's arms?
I remember the night you told me
I remember that nigh so clear
You wouldn't do anything but hold me
As you wiped my eyes tear for tear
'A great darkness is cast upon me' you said
And you told me that I was the one to set you free
You talked to me asthough from a book you had read
But you made me realise all the things I couldn't before see
You smiled and whispered 'I'll always stay'
And you told me that you'd never fade away
