Do You Know What It's Like? Poem by Angela34 Jackson

Do You Know What It's Like?

To constantly cry yourself to sleep, to be hurt by the words and actions of others. To have to be numb and cold just to survive in this mean and cruel world? To not have one single person in this world who will always be there for you, to be made to feel like you are the scum of the world, to wish you were dead every second of everyday? Have you ever wondered what these things feel like how it feels to be completely hopeless and lost? Well, take it from someone who knows all to well just how it feels. The loneliness, the hurt, the tears, the need to be held and touched, to mean something to someone, to wish you didn't have to live with this hurt every single day of your life is the worst feeling in the world. But each day somehow you manage to make it through yet another day and let others beleive that everything is ok because you already know in your heart that in their eyes you are just a useless, worthless, good for nothing. It's been that way your entire life. It's all you have ever known.Don't even care anymore. Learned to be cold and numb. But no matter what behind closed doors is when you sometimes just have to let the tears escape. Sometimes even ask for a little help and comfort from the Dark Sid.Then sometimes the Demons just take over.Time to let the evil/comfort begin. God it'd so hard being a prisoner because of all the hurt and pain. But what really hurts and not one single person would even understand or care. Thank god for the demons. at least I'm not totally completely alone.

Don't let your demons take over, Angela. People do what has happened because they feel the same way, and feel better when they take it out on you. (let their demons take over) You are better than that and your poetry is evidence. Let it out in your writing and know that you are worthy. Peace
