(dodgy Dave Tale) The Burnt Vicar

Rating: 2.9

(Dodgy Dave Tale) The Burnt Vicar
Well if the truth be told
And I should be so bold
(to say.....)
I understand why Dodgy Dave
Was picked to be the Vicar

It seems they must have known
That preaching was his home
Don't put him to close to a fire
Like cooking would require
He would only get burnt quicker

There is now fact that stands as proof
As David made a little goof
He needed light to give 'The Word'
A sermon he wanted not to go unheard
But the tilly lamp began to flicker

He went to turn the lamp back on
To turn the darkness into dawn
Reached for the lamp that still was hot
And now he has some blister spots
(Please it must have hurt...no time to snicker)

So now we know why he was a chosen man
To keep him close and safe at hand
Don't let Dodgy Dave get close to a fire
Or burns are what he may acquire
Just let him preach the brimstone of evil life and liquor

Lil sis, I may not have seen the light, but I certainly did feel the pain. A trick I won't do again. Your spot on with you humour. I may look back now and think you silly sod what were you thinking of. Great poem. Top marks and thanks for sharing it Lil sis. Big Bruv
